Botou casting industry has a long history of over 1,300 years.In 2008, Botou pig iron smelting technology was included in the national intangible cultural heritage list.In 2009 and 2012, it was successively appraised as "China foundry town" and "China foundry city" by China foundry association.At present, Botou casting products mainly include industrial products, handicrafts and municipal facilities, involving more than 10 large series and thousands of varieties such as automobile mold, machine tool castings, measuring tools and automobile accessories, and the products are sold to more than 50 countries and regions such as the United States, Japan and Italy.By the end of 2017, there were 589 foundry enterprises in Botou city, 96 foundry enterprises above the scale, more than 10 billion yuan in fixed assets, 28,000 employees, and an annual casting production capacity of more than 4 million tons.
